Has anyone been able to avoid the word “Russiagate” lately? It feels like we were all strung along for months on the premise that President Trump was hiding some dark secret involving Russian collusion. Well, folks, we were played. The Steele Dossier, the backbone to the entire investigation (Crossfire Hurricane), has been widely discredited, and now former CIA Director John Brennan has acknowledged that he may have “received bad information” about Trump’s alleged relations with Russia. Oh, and did I mention that Congressman Adam Schiff is now censured in Congress (that’s like a prison gang shivving a fellow inmate for taking too much jello) for his lies and manipulation of the facts?

First things first, let’s talk about the Steele Dossier. You know, the one that was paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC, and was used as evidence to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. Yeah, that one. It turns out that the dossier’s main source, Russian national Igor Danchenko, was a questionable character to say the least. He had a history of mental illness, debts, and alcoholism. Not exactly the kind of person who should be providing sensitive information for an investigation of this magnitude. (Remember “Curveball” in the run-up to the calamitous, imperial SNAFU in Iraq? Then SecState Colin Powell grabbed on to those lies to help the MIC totally destroy another country.)

But it gets worse. The Steele Dossier was filled with outright lies and misinformation. The infamous “pee tape” episode was a complete fabrication, as was the claim that Michael Cohen traveled to Prague to meet with Russian officials. Not to mention the fact that the FBI used the dossier as the primary evidence to spy on then-candidate Trump. We always knew that the FBI institution was not impartial, but to rely on such unreliable data to launch an investigation? Shameful.

Let’s not forget about Congress Rep from California Adam Schiff, who not only promoted the Steele Dossier at every opportunity, but also lied about having “direct evidence” of a Russia-Trump conspiracy. The Mueller Report came out and debunked those claims, but Schiff continued to insist that he had some secret knowledge that he couldn’t share with the public. When pressed, all he could offer were vague statements and innuendos. Now we know that he was lying to the American people and using his position of power to perpetuate a false narrative.

Even more damning for Schiff is his handling of the Ukraine impeachment proceedings. The same guy who repeatedly claimed to have direct evidence of Russian collusion all of a sudden had no problem accepting hearsay evidence from a partisan whistleblower. And let’s not forget that he was the one who orchestrated the closed-door hearings, where Republicans were not allowed to call their own witnesses or cross-examine the witnesses presented by Schiff’s team. That’s not due process, that’s a kangaroo court. Schiff, who may have the the most deranged case of Trump Derangement System in history, even fell for Russian prank-callers telling him that Trump had “naked” (ew) pictures of Trump. I wonder how many times Schiff has renewed his car’s “extended warranty” from spam phone calls over the years?

In the end, the Great Russiagate Hoax can be summed up as nothing more than a political witch hunt. The Democrats were so obsessed with taking down President Trump that they ignored all evidence to the contrary and peddled a false narrative to the American people. They used the Steele Dossier, a piece of political propaganda, as justification to launch an investigation that dragged on for years and cost millions of dollars. And the ringleader of this farce, Congressman Adam Schiff, has been exposed for his lies and manipulation of the facts. It is way past the time for the Democrats to stop the theatrics and start focusing on actual policy issues that matter to the American people.

It is also past the time for the increasingly partisan acrimony to end if anything vital and positive is to be done. It seems that Congress has turned into the most immature Middle School on the planet. Mean girls and bully-boys attack people in the other clique instead of focusing on their actual jobs and their constituents.

All of the above is one of the reasons that I think voting is not only an exercise in futility, but also a way that we show these clowns in political office that we believe in the process and the degenerate system that further oppresses us. Now Schiff wants to be Senator of California—-replacing the living-corpse, Feinstein.

And, despite all of his lying and political corruption, he will probably be victorious, based on historical precedent.

Cindy Lee Sheehan is an American anti-war activist, whose son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War. She attracted national and international media attention in August 2005 for her extended antiwar protest at a makeshift camp outside President George W. Bush’s Texas ranch—a stand that drew both passionate support and criticism. Sheehan ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008. She was a vocal critic of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. Her memoir, Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism, was published in 2006. In an interview with The Daily Beast in 2017, Sheehan continued to hold her critical views towards George W. Bush, while also criticizing the militarism of Donald Trump.

Ms.Sheehan was the 2012 vice-presidential nominee of the Peace and Freedom Party, and received 1.2% of the statewide vote in the 2014 California gubernatorial election.
