US military contractors to boost
Washington (dpa) — Major US defence companies have agreed to boost production of some weapons, US President Donald Trump said on Friday.
“We just concluded a very good meeting with the largest US Defense Manufacturing Companies where we discussed Production and Production Schedules,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“They have agreed to quadruple Production of the ‘Exquisite Class’ Weaponry in that we want to reach, as rapidly as possible, the highest levels of quantity.”
It remained unclear which weapons Trump was referring to or how and by when the production increase would be implemented.
The US had “virtually unlimited supply of Medium and Upper Medium Grade Munitions, which we are using, as an example, in Iran, and recently used in Venezuela. Regardless, however, we have also increased Orders at these levels,” Trump said.

He said the expansion of production began three months ago.
Trump met with representatives of BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
On Thursday, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US had no shortage of munitions.
Hegseth was responding to concerns raised by some Democrats, who have recently voiced alarm over the large amount of ammunition the United States has been using in Iran.
Armaments companies have seen a surge in weapon sales and demand recently, driven by the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza along with broader global tensions.
