Two Iranian Centrifuge Production Sites Hit by Israel, IAEA Says

Vienna (dpa) — The UN’s nuclear watchdog on Wednesday said Israel has struck two sites in Iran that make parts for centrifuges that enrich uranium.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) identified the facilities as the TESA Karaj workshop and the Tehran Research Center, adding that both of them had been under the agency’s monitoring.

“At the Tehran site, one building was hit where advanced centrifuge rotors were manufactured and tested. At Karaj, two buildings were destroyed where different centrifuge components were manufactured,” the IAEA wrote on X.

The Israeli military said earlier on Wednesday that its fighter jets struck a centrifuge production site and several weapons manufacturing facilities in Iran.

More than 50 jets carried out the strikes in the Tehran area, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.

Israel has struck several sites linked to Iran’s nuclear programme since Friday.

Attacks were continuing on Wednesday, with the world awaiting a decision by US President Donald Trump on whether the United States will join Israel’s strikes on Iran.
