several were killed Southern Lebanon
Beirut (dpa)— At least six people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh, the state news agency NNA reported on Friday.
A young girl was said to be among the victims.
The agency said that an Israeli fighter jet struck a family home. The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incident.
Since the outbreak of the Middle East war two weeks ago, Lebanon has once again become the scene of the armed conflict between Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah.
The Shiite militia is firing rockets at Israel, which is responding with greatly intensified attacks on targets across Lebanon.
At least 773 people have been killed in Lebanon in the renewed conflict, including more than 100 minors, with more than 2,000 people injured, according to the Health Ministry in Beirut.
More than 800,000 people — around 14% of the population — have been displaced.
