Kiev (dpa) — At least one person was killed and two others injured in an attack in the eastern Ukrainian city of Horlivka, the occupying Russian authorities said on Wednesday.

Ukraine carried out the attacks with rocket launchers and drones, Denis Pushilin, the Moscow-appointed head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, wrote on Telegram.

He said four residential buildings, a school and a waterworks were damaged.

Over 70% of the eastern Ukrainian Donetsk region is controlled by Russia.

Two people were also injured in a Russian drone attack in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Chernihiv, officials said.

Governor Vyacheslav Chaus said on Telegram that a post office, two residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged in the attack on the city of Nizhyn.

In a post on Facebook, Nizhyn Mayor Oleksandr Kodola called on citizens to stock up on water supplies and charge their phones and power banks amid the attacks on critical infrastructure.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion for more than three and a half years. Including the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014, almost a fifth of Ukraine’s territory is under Russian control.
