Israeli attacks southern Lebanon

Beirut (dpa) — At least five people have been killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon, authorities said on Thursday.

The Lebanese Health Ministry said 10 people were also injured in the attack on the Masnaa border crossing to Syria.

The Israeli military has not commented on the attack.

A ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia has been in place since the end of November.

Nevertheless, the Israeli military says it is continuing to attack Hezbollah militia targets and positions across parts of Lebanon.

The attacks have resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.

The latest attack came as the Lebanese Cabinet on Thursday endorsed a US-backed proposal for Hezbollah to be disarmed by the end of the year.
