There’s a difference
The first inkling of trouble in “paradise” happened to me in 2016, shortly after the election where Trump “beat” Clinton (as if there is anything trustworthy, or valuable about U.S. elections).
At that time, I was also consumed by being the caregiver for my sister Dede Miller, who died in my home, in my arms the day after Trump was inaugurated in 2017.
Anyway, in November of ‘16, I received an email from who was a very good friend and leader of a prominent (at the time) antiwar group. Dede and I had known her for years and had worked very well with her organization. Her email didn’t even ask how was my sister doing, but asked me to sign on to a letter denouncing Trump and his upcoming regime. My response was to say that I couldn’t sign anything that didn’t also acknowledge what a lifelong war criminal was Clinton and how we wouldn’t be any better off if she had “won.” That was the last time I heard from her—not even when my sister died.
Since then, whenever Trump was criticized or attacked for real, or imagined, actions, I felt it was my mission to point people back to the real problem: U.S. and global imperialism.
Since my son was killed in Iraq, I have developed a strong disgust for U.S. and global imperialism. Rather than TDS, or BidenDS, or KamalaDS, or ObamaDS, I have Opposition to Deranged Empire Syndrome (ODES).
The puppets in the POTUS seat are revolting lizard-people who have sold their souls to the devils of the Military Industrial Complex, the Big pHARMa Industrial Complex, the Big Oil Industrial Complex, the Western Medical Industrial Complex, and every psychotic complex you can imagine; and in selling their souls, have sacrificed us to those evil entities.
Receiving that email in 2016, and the subsequent ghosting of me by my former friend were just the beginning. The political partisan nature of U.S. society has us constantly hating each other while supporting crimes against humanity of the Garbage People Class and the demonization of those of us who refuse to play that game.
Trump crossed the line from icky-hustler to Clinton/Bush/Cheney/Obama/Biden level of war crimes and crimes against humanity by invading a sovereign nation and kidnapping the First Family, and in my opinion, he can go eff himself along with the other pedos and psychos.
Because I have ODES, I don’t have TDS. To me, TDS is just hating Trump because he “beat” Clinton in 2016 and identity politics are more important to them than supporting and elevating the working-class.
I hate Trump for a very valid reason: he kidnapped two of my comrades who put people ahead of IdPol and other stupid-ass-shit.
So, keep calling me whatever you like, I really don’t care.
Cindy Lee Sheehan is an American anti-war activist, whose son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War. She attracted national and international media attention in August 2005 for her extended antiwar protest at a makeshift camp outside President George W. Bush’s Texas ranch—a stand that drew both passionate support and criticism. Sheehan ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008. She was a vocal critic of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. Her memoir, Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism, was published in 2006. In an interview with The Daily Beast in 2017, Sheehan continued to hold her critical views towards George W. Bush, while also criticizing the militarism of Donald Trump.
Ms.Sheehan was the 2012 vice-presidential nominee of the Peace and Freedom Party, and received 1.2% of the statewide vote in the 2014 California gubernatorial election.
