Europe Will Defend Ukraine With All Means, says Germany's Wadephul

Warsaw (dpa) — The new German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Wednesday promised Ukraine full support on his first full day in office.

“Ukraine can rely on Europe and everyone in Moscow must know that they have to count with us,” Wadephul said.

“Europe will defend and support Ukraine with all means,” he said, speaking alongside his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot as they arrived at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Warsaw.

Wadephul and Barrot travelled together from Paris after the German minister accompanied German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on his inaugural visit to the French capital.
