Russian Attack on Market in Kiev Suburb Leaves Two Dead, More Injured

Russian attack market in Kiev

Kiev (dpa) — A Russian attack on a market in a suburb of the Ukrainian capital Kiev has killed two people and injured at least four others, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Sunday evening.

Other sources spoke of at least 10 wounded people.

Kiev’s military administrator, Timur Tkachenko, also reported two fatalities following the drone attack on the market in the Bucha district.

The Ukrainian capital was attacked several times during the day by Russian combat drones. According to Klitschko, nine people were injured when the drones struck various buildings.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for more than four and a half years. With front lines deadlocked, Russia has been stepping up attacks on Ukrainian cities using its air force, combat drones and ballistic missiles. Ukraine is hitting back with drone strikes against targets in Russia’s oil and defence industries on Russian territory.
